CA Foundation is an entry-level test designed for students who want to pursue the CA Course. Exams for the CA Foundation will conduct twice in a year in May and November. CA Foundation is replacing the current entry-level test CPC (Common Proficiency Course).

FOUNDATION COURSE

About the course

Foundation Course is the entry-level for chartered accountancy course.

Students after appearing in class twelfth examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent to that can register for Foundation Course.

Students will seem within the Foundation Examination once qualifying the senior secondary (10+2) examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto.

Students once registration to the course are required to complete a minimum of four months study period from the date of registration so as to be eligible to appear within the Foundation Examination, i.e., students registered on or before thirtieth June/thirty-first Dec will be eligible to appear in November/ might examination because the case could also be.

Students who are Graduates/ Post Graduates with prescribed percentage marks or its equivalent grade within the examination conducted by any recognized University (including Open University) or Intermediate level examination passed students of The Institute of value Accountants of India or The Institute of Company Secretaries of India are exempted from passing Foundation Course. Such students on fulfilling the necessities will register on to Intermediate Course.

Foundation Course comprises of 4 papers, out of which 2 are subjective and two are objective kind. Negative marking for selecting wrong choices is there in objective papers.

Foundation Examinations are held twice a year in the months of May and Nov. Examination Department problems notifications/announcements concerning conduct of Foundation Examination on Institute. The same notification contains the planned Examination Centers, in Asian nation and abroad.

After getting registered for Foundation Course, students also are needed to fill in a separate form for appearing in Foundation Examination.

Passing criteria in Foundation Examination

A Foundation Course candidate shall be declared to have passed the examination if he/ she obtains at one sitting a minimum of 40% marks in every paper and a minimum of 50% marks in combination of all the papers, subject to the principle of negative marking.
