The NEET, or National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, is a medical entrance test conducted across India once a year. NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To pursue any medical course in India, a medical aspirant needs to clear the NEET successfully. Once you qualify for this exam, you can get a seat in a medical program such as MBBS, BDS, and several AYUSH courses in government and private institutes across the country. 

The NTA is the organizing body for NEET and it is instrumental in conducting NEET smoothly and fairly every year. The body is responsible for everything related to NEET, right from announcing dates to issuing admit cards and assessing the answer sheets. The exam questions are in a multiple-choice format, and the test is conducted in offline mode. 

NEET 2023 Latest update 

The core structure and pattern of NEET are the same, the medical college of India launches some changes in NEET. Below are the Latest updates in NEET that you need to know. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the time limit to apply for the medical entrance exam NEET 2023.  The NEET-UG correction window has opened and the last date to fill  NEET 2023 application form for candidates is last week of December 2022 at neet.nta.nic.in. Medical aspirants are advised to complete the application process, on or before the NEET 2022 registration last date. As per the official notice,

1. There is no limit on the number of attempts.

2. Aadhar Card is no longer mandatory when filling out the NEET application form. Any of the other specified IDs will work as well.

3. There is a category-wise age limitation.

Candidates whose application form will be accepted by the authorities will be issued a NEET 2023 admit card. The hall ticket for the NEET exam will be released on the official website. Only the successfully registered candidates can download NEET UG admit card by submitting a user ID and password. Every candidate will be required to carry a hard copy of the NEET 2023 admit card along with other relevant documents on the exam day. 

Reservation and seat availability 

When the NEET  results are announced, every candidate will be given  All India Rank {AIR}. Then  the counseling process starts in which the medical and undergraduate seats are allotted to the candidates based on their ranks

NEET Reservation criteria have been passed by the candidates and now it accepts candidates only to get the benefit of 27% OBC & 10% EWS reservation under 15% AIQS in the NEET counseling process. The NEET Reservation policy’s update will benefit 2,700 OBC and 550 EWS students. While filling out the NEET Application form, candidates must add the category carefully to be eligible for NEET Reservation. Each state prepares its merit list based on NEET-UG results itself. The total number of seats is 66,000 currently.

 

NEET 2023 Exam dates 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the NEET test date 2023 and the information booklet on their website. According to the NTA NEET 2023 announcement, the NEET 2023 test will be held on the 1st week of May 2023.  This year’s NEET exam dates are included in the official NEET 2023 bulletin, containing the application form deadline, the correction window, and admission card release dates. Exam Pattern For NEET 2023

  • NEET 2023 examination will be conducted by NTA in Pen-Paper Mode.
  •   The NEET 2023 examination will have one paper of 3 hours 20 minutes duration. The NEET question paper will consist of three separate sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Detailed topic-wise syllabus of NEET 2023: NEET Syllabus
  •  The NEET question paper will have a total of 200 MCQs. 50 each in Physics & Chemistry, and 100   questions from Biology. A candidate needs to answer 90 questions in Biology and 45 questions each in Physics & Chemistry.
  •  All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with a choice of four answers, only one being the correct choice. Each question carries 4 marks for every correct answer. There is also negative marking, deducting 1 mark for every wrong answer.
  •  The total duration of the NEET 2023 examination is 200 minutes. There is no time limit for individual parts of the exam.
  • The question paper will be in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates must choose question paper language while filling in the application form for NEET 2023. Change of question paper language will not be allowed after the registration.

 

NEET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The first and foremost thing that NEET 2023 aspirants need to do is to ensure that they fulfill the NEET 2023 eligibility criteria. You need to take care of many aspects – academic qualifications, nationality, and age. Here is a brief overview of the NEET 2023 age criteria:

  • There is no limit on the upper age for appearing in NEET 2023.
  •  You should be at least 17 years of age on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • The age limit is the same for all categories of NEET 2023 candidates.

Candidates can download the NEET 2023 application form from NEET’s official website (www.nta.nic.in). The NEET 2023 registrations are going on. You can submit the form by the Last week of December 2022. The application forms should be submitted online. NTA will not accept the forms which are submitted offline.

NEET 2023 Admit Card

The release date for admit card is announced on their official NEET  website. Here are some of the important details that are mentioned on the hall ticket NEET 2023.

When the admit card is released, the candidates must cross-check the card whether the details are correct. If the details are not correct then as soon as possible the candidate must contact NEET 2023 Helpline. 

On the exam day, aspirants should present the admit card to the invigilator and the coordinator. If it’s not there then the candidates are not eligible to appear for the exam.  Experts suggest that you should keep your admit card safe until you finally get admission to an institute.

NEET 2023 Results

When the exams are over answer scripts are evaluated by the NTA based on standard protocol. To check the results, candidates must open the official website of NEET 2023. You can download the result sheet from the website. A merit list is created based on the results and seats are allotted for the candidates in the medical colleges.
